מעצבות צעירות YOUNG DESIGNERS

כאמא לשני בנים (מקסימים!) חשקה נפשי בבת, ולא רק לשם האיזון המשפחתי. ילדה קטנה עם שתי צמות, שמלת מלמלות ופה דובדבן. התחושות מתעצמות כאשר אני נכנסת לחנויות לבגדי ילדים, שאת שמם יש לשנות ל "חנויות לבגדי ילדות". קולבים עמוסים ורוד/אדום/לבן, סרטים צבעוניים, תחרות ססגוניות, חצאיות מסתובבות והרבה הרבה שיק. מיותר לציין שעל המדף הבודד בקצה החנות מונחים להם כמה פריטים עלובים בצבע כחול, נעלבים ועייפים. 

As a mother of two (charming!) boys, I am craving for a daughter, not only for family balancing. A little girl with two braids, ruffled dresses and a cherry-like mouth. These feelings are intensified when I enter children's clothing stores that should have been called "girls' clothing stores". The colorful racks are loaded with pink/red/white dresses, ribbons, laces, spinning skirts with lots of chic. Needless to say there are also blue, dull, offended and tired looking items for boys on some isolated shelves at the end of the store.

החופש הגדול, האחייניות המהממות שלי והחשקים הכמוסים לבת (שהם כבר לא כמוסים) הובילו אותי לפתוח סדנא למעצבות צעירות. חוויה יצירתית לבנות המין היפה (והחזק) לעיצוב ותפירה בחוט ומחט, ממש כמו פעם: קבוצת נשים אשר יושבות יחד, תופרות ומפטפטות. הפעם בסיבוב הבדים בחנויות בחרתי בדים מתוקים עם הדפסי פרחים ולבבות, סרטי סאטן עדיניםו המון המון ורוד. 

Summer vacation, my gorgeous nieces and my secret cravings for a daughter (they are no longer secret) led me to open a workshop for young designers. A creative experience of designing and needle and thread sewing experience for the beautiful (and strong) gender, just, like in old times: a group of women sitting together, sewing and chatting. This time, I looked for cute fabrics with floral prints and hearts, delicate satin ribbons and lots of pink in fabrics stores.

בהתרגשות רבה קיבלתי את הבנות, הדור הבא של עולם העיצוב. למדנו להכין סקיצה, לתכנן דף השראה ולבחור חומרים. תפרנו בהנאה רבה סרט אופנתי לשיער, תיק, עטיפת בד למחברת וחצאית מסתובבת (בחצאית קצת נתקלנו בקשיים, אך המורה עזרה). בנוסף עיטרנו ביד חופשית ובעיצוב אישי חולצה. להפתעתי הרבה מצאתי בנות יצירתיות מאוד, עם חוש עיצובי מובהק, עם כמיהה ליצירה פשוטה, סבלנות, התמדה והרבה הרבה יופי. 

I received the girls with great excitement, the next generation of the design world. We learned to make a sketch, design an inspiration page and select materials. With great pleasure we made a fashionable ribbon for the hair, a bag, a fabric notebook jacket and spinning skirt (it was more difficult, but the teacher helped). In addition, each girl individually designed and decorated a shirt. Much to my surprise, the girls were very creative, with a clear sense of design, yearning, determination and patience and created simple and very beautiful items.

התגובות הנלהבות של הבנות והאמהות שימחו אותי מאוד. עכשיו אני מתפנה לסדנא נוספת שתערך בקרוב, ולחלומות על תינוקת.

The enthusiastic responses of girls and mothers delighted me. Now I have time to prepare the next workshop that will take place soon and to dream about a baby-girl.

ירוקה GREEN

כקצינה לשעבר,  יש לי יחסי אהבה שנאה עם צבע ירוק. מצד אחד הוא מזכיר לי מדים צבאיים אך מנגד, שירותי הצבאי היה מעצים, מחשל ומהנה. במשך עשור נמנעתי מלהכניס לארון הבגדים שלי פריטים בצבע ירוק. לא ירוק זית, לא ירוק מנטה ואפילו לא (חביב הניינטיז) ירוק בקבוק.

As an ex-officer in the IDF my relationship with the color green is a love-hate relationship. On one hand, it reminds me of the uniform, but on the other hand, the time I spent in the army made me stronger, empowered me and I had a lot of fun. For a decade or so I didn't buy any green items for my wardrobe. No olive green, no mint green and not even bottle green (which was the 90's favorite!)

התאהבתי בו מחדש בשנים האחרונות. שמלת וינטאג' מהממת קרצה לי מחנות צדדית בנתניה, וחינכה אותי מחדש. כשהתחלתי לעסוק באופנה נוכחתי לדעת שהירוק מחמיא ביותר לישראליות. השמלה הראשונה שעיצבתי בקולקציית הביכורים שלי היא ירוקה והיא שמלת המזל שלי וכאחת שכזאת כל הסדרה הירוקה נמכרה. מאז בכל קולקצייה שלי יש פריט אחד ירוק, למזל. בחורף היה זה ז'קט קצר מצמר במראה צבאי (קצינה או לא?), במעבר היתה זאת חולצת כיווצים (דגם רותה) שאפילו הדגם הראשוני שלה נחטף. בקיץ הזה השמלה האהובה עלי, שמלת אנסטסיה, נתפרה גם בירוק. מה יהיה בחורף הקרוב? חכו בסבלנות.

Lately, I fell in love with the color green all over again. A beautiful green vintage dress winked at me from a display window in Natania to it re-educate me. When I started practicing fashion design I've come to realize that the color green really flatters Israeli women. The first dress I ever designed was green, it was my good luck charm dress and as such – all the items of that design were sold out. In all subsequent collections, I've made sure there's a green piece included for good luck. In the winter collection it was a short army styled jacket (I did mention the officer issue right?), in my the spring collection it was the Ruta shirt (the first series of this shirt were sold out too!), and in the present summer collection my favorite dress – Anastasia dress was sawn also in green. What item will it be in the next winter collection? Stay tuned!

 

 

 

 

חברתי הטובה רחלי היתה מהראשונות לרכוש את שמלת הביכורים שלי בצבע ירוק. במקרה או שלא, רחלי היא מהירוקות האמיתיות. אחת שיכולה להזיז הרים, לשנות החלטות ולהביא שינוי. לא רק שהיא יכולה, היא אף עושה זאת עבור כולנו. רחלי היא יו"ר (משותפת) של "התנועה הירוקה", אישה מקסימה ומעניינת, אמא לשלושה ילדים וחברה טובה.

 

אני רוצה לאחל לכולנו המון בגדים ירוקים, חיים ירוקים, מזומנים ירוקים. ולרחלי האהובה בהצלחה במרוץ לכנסת.

My good friend Racheli was one of the first buyers of my first green dress model.  Accidentally (or not…) she's truly a green person – an activist for the quality of environment. She's one of those who can move mountains, change decisions and make a difference. Not only can she – she's actually doing it for all of us, as she's the chairmen of "The Green Movement" and she's a charming, interesting women, a mother of three and a really good friend.

I wish us all tones of green clothes, green way of live,  green cash and for Racheli I wish good luck in the race for the Knesset (Israel's parliament)!
