מעצבת את עתידי: יום הולדת לשחף

בסדנת המעצבות הצעירות שערכתי בקיץ, פגשתי ילדה מדהימה ביופייה ובאופייה. עדינה, לבבית, מנומסת ויצירתית. התאהבתי בה ממבט ראשון. לאורך כל ימות הסדנא היא שבתה את ליבי בדרך עבודתה: יסודית ומדוייקת, סבלנית, מרוכזת, יצירתית ובעלת מעוף, בדיוק התכונות המתאימות למעצבת. אך יחד עם זאת צניעותה הרבה היא זאת שכבשה אותי בסערה.

In the designer workshop for young girls, which I've conducted this summer, I met an amazingly beautiful girl with an enchanting character. She was gentle, affectionate, polite yet creative. I fell in love with her at first sight. Throughout the whole workshop, she captured my heart with her methodological work: thorough and precise, patient, focused, creative and imaginative, just the features of a promising designer. But, above all, I was overwhelmed by her modesty

כמה ימים לאחר סיום הסדנא, קיבלתי הצעה שאי אפשר לסרב לה: חגיגת יום הולדת לשחף בשילוב סדנת "מעצבות צעירות" לחברותייה.

לא הפריעה לי העובדה שמדובר בשישי אחר הצהריים, שעת המנוחה שלי. שיחת טלפון קצרה עם שחף לבחירת הפריט אותו נתפור, והופ! אני כבר בקניות ובהכנות. שחף, בעלת הלב הענק, בחרה לעצב ולתפור מובייל משלושה לבבות, ושמחה אותי מאוד בבחירתה: תפירה פשוטה ולא מסובכת (עבור החברות שלא תפרו מעולם), אפשרויות עיצוב רבות ופריט מקסים אותו יקחו החברות הביתה וימצאו לו מקום של כבוד בחדרן.

A few days after the end of the workshop, I received an offer one cannot refuse: to conduct a short designer workshop in her birthday party, for her and her girl-friends.

I did not mind the fact that the workshop was set on Friday afternoon (traditionally known as my favorite resting time). I had a brief phone talk with Shachaf (the birthday girl) to select the item we will sew, and before I know it, I've been shopping and preparing. Shachaf, the girl with endless love, chose to design and sew three hearts on a ribbon, and I was thrilled with her clever choice: simple, uncomplicated sewing (for her girl-friends who've never sewn before)many optional designs that ends up with a beautiful item. The girl-friends can take it home and find for it a place of honor in their room.

שחף, אופנתית כהרגלה, לבשה שמלה ירוקה מדהימה כיאה לדוגמנית. חברותייה, רובן בורוד ובלבן התרוצצו סביבה באהבה ובהתרגשות. על השולחן הגדול נפרשה מפה משמחת ואביזרי התפירה עשו את דרכם לשם. כמה דקות התארגנות, הסבר קצר ממני, ותוך דקות ספורות ישבו להן בנחת, מרוכזות בעשייה, עשר בנות מקסימות, בלי אייפון ואייפד, ותפרו ותפרו ותפרו. ממש שבט של נשים קטנות. בראשי עברה מחשבה משמחת: איזה כיף להעניק לדור הבא את האהבה שלי, התשוקה שלי והמקצוע שלי.

Shachaf, as fashionable as ever, was wearing a stunning green dress as befits a model. Her friends, wearing mostly pink and white, surrounded her with love and excitement. A joyful tablecloth was spread over the big table and the sewing accessories soon made their way there. A few minutes of organization, a short explanation by me and within minutes, ten beautiful girls were sitting peacefully, concentrated on practicing sewing, without their iPhones or iPads, just sewing, sewing and sewing. They looked like a tribe of little women. A happy thought crossed through my mind: there is so much fun in giving my love my passion and my professional knowledge to the next generation.
